The keys are where you stand with your amp (right in front, facing it is the worst), and between songs getting in the habit of either covering your strings with one hand or turning down your guitar's volume control (or using a tuner pedal in bypass mode). For you with jazz, blues, and some rock, a hollowbody would be nice. Ted Nugent used a Byrdland for many years as his main guitar, and he was playing very loud with a lot of gain. A guy I see playing at Florida blues festivals, J. I know guys who gig with them, and even seen them used at outdoor blues festivals. Feedback's always a possibility with volume, but it's also something that can be controlled. Casino's are especially good, as you get a little more neck to work with, and the bodies aren't as bulky. Hollowbodies are cool guitars, and great for certain types of music.
